ATS Faculty

• Gary D. Beck: Gary brings 34 years of automotive experience to the classroom, which includes having his smog license for 30 years. He has a California vocational teaching credential and is a certified California Clean Air Car instructor.
• Don Buckey: With over 28 years of trade experience, Don is a Master ASE with L-1. He also specializes in drivability and A/C and is an Advanced Clean Air Car certified instructor.
• Evan Meyer: With 33 years experience, Evan is an ASE Master Auto Tech with L-1, F-1, and M-1, 2, 3, plus CA Brake, Lamp and EA Smog. He has a Bachelor's Degree, a VOC Ed and Community College teaching credentials, and is a BAR Certified instructor, and is a member of STS & SAE.
• Ray Ortiz: Ray brings over 30 years of automotive experience to his classroom and is a certified Clean Air Car instructor. He is a Master ASE, GM, and Chrysler technician that specializes in electrical and drivability.
• Jerry Mullen: Jerry brings over 27 years of automotive instruction from DeAnza College with many more years as a technician in the field. He holds a Master ASE certification including L-1 and specializes in electrical, air conditioning and drivability repairs.
• Les Hersch: With over 26 years of automotive experience, Les specializes in drivability diagnosis and repair. He holds an AS degree in Automotive Technology and a Master ASE with L-1 certification. Les is also a certified Clean Air Car instructor and has been a smog certified technician for over 20 years.
• Max Thomas: With over 19 years experience, Max has his Master ASE certifications in Automotive technician, HD Truck, Engine machinist, School bus, as well as Alternative fuels and L-1. He has an AS degree in Automotive Electronics Technology and is a California certified Advanced Clean Air Car instructor.
• Mark Swank: Mark has over 26 years of automotive experience, 18 of those as a smog technician. He is a factory trained Volvo and Honda technician with a Master ASE in Automotive and Machinist plus L-1. Mark is also a Clean Air Certified instructor.
• Mike Longstreth: With over 22 years experience, Mike specializes in drivability diagnosis and repair, and has his CA smog license. He holds ASE Master certifications in Auto tech and HD Truck plus L-1.
