Automotive Training Schools, Inc. (formerly Snap-on Technical Training Solutions) has been conducting first-class quality technical training in Northern California since 1994. We have trained over 10,000 students in our training centers, which makes ATS the largest provider of smog technician training in California. Currently, we have training centers located in Sacramento, Concord, Mountain View and Monterey areas. ATS is one of the only small privately-owned automotive institutions in California that has fully-approved training programs through the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education.
Our main objective is to provide the best possible training program for individuals that are enthusiastic about obtaining the proper instruction in the automotive field. We feel so strongly about this objective that we offer to all of our students that they can repeat ANY course for NO CHARGE within one year of originally taking the class. (A retest fee may apply). The way we achieve your educational success is simple: We employ only the best instructors available; we utilize only the "best" curriculum available; we keep our class size down so that you can get better attention from the instructor; and we utilize the best diagnostic test equipment and tools available.
ATS specializes in "Drive-ability" and California smog certification courses. We also offer courses in automotive Air Conditioning systems operations, diagnosis, repair and certification; Automotive engine performance related diagnostic equipment operations (such as Scanner operations, Labscope operations, MODIS operations, etc...); and other automotive electrical, computer systems and engine performance related diagnostic courses. We offer comprehensive "Drive-ability" and "Smog certification" training programs for people with little to no automotive experience. We have a very successful training program that begins with basic automotive skills and continues through specific training in automotive electronic and computer systems diagnostics and repair. We then continue through all six California state certified smog courses required by the Bureau of Automotive Repair to obtain an Advanced level smog technician license. We even prepare you for the very difficult state smog examination. You will only find this type of program with Automotive Training Schools, and it is called the A.P.E.T. program(Automotive Performance and Emissions Technology). However, we also offer ONLINE courses in all areas of automotive repair (except body & paint). This NEW program includes fundamental training in automotive systems such as: Undercar systems repair (braking systems, steering & suspension systems, wheel & tire repair), Drive-train systems (engine repair, transmission repair, transaxle & differential repair), Engine Performance systems (electrical systems, gas & diesel fuel systems, computer systems), Alternative systems (hybrid vehicle systems, electric vehicle systems, propane fueled systems), Auxiliary systems (SRS safety systems, security & entertainment systems) and HVAC & Cooling systems (A/C & heating systems, engine and transmission cooling systems).
